Short project description

VisualVault is a third-party web based document management, business process automation and sharing/collaboration tool. It allows registering custom modules to the portal that extend the functionality.

Documents Backup for VisualVault is a tool that allows VisualVault admins to backup customers' documents and to delete them from the DB to free space on the storage in case customer has uploaded lots of documents. In this case application prepares files to burn on some media (CD/DVD/...) and allows to search documents same way as in VisualVault.

This tool consists of two applications:

Docs Backup tool - gets documents from the DB using some filter (for selected customer(s), date period, keywords etc.) and saves them to destination folder. At the same time it makes a copy of CD Autorun applet (described later), prepares index file and some other additional files needed later for search (messages, for example). Result of work - folder that is ready to burn on CD or any other media. This CD will be sent to customer then.

CD Autorun applet - allows customers to search documents (which are no longer available in the VisualVault) on the CD using same criteria as in the VisualVault, view related messages and open/copy/save documents to the disk.
